Medicines

St Edward's School is an inclusive community that aims to support and welcome pupils with medical conditions.

Emergency medication is readily available to pupils who require it at all times during the school day or at off-site activities.

At St Edward's we use a Healthcare Plan to record important details about individual children’s medical needs at school, their triggers, signs, symptoms, medication and other treatments.

There is no legal or contractual duty for any member of staff to administer medication or supervise a pupil taking medication, however the specific staff have agreed to administer or supervise the administration of prescribed medication only.

All prescribed medication must be brought into school by a responsible adult and passed to a member of staff who will arrange for safe storage.

The medication must be accompanied by a fully completed and signed consent form.

A copy of the consent form can be downloaded here.

No medication will be administered without a signed consent form.
