RELATIONSHIP & HEALTH EDUCATION (RHE)

For many years, St Edward’s proudly used their own scheme “ In the Beginning” which was used widely across the UK by over 500 Roman Catholic and Church of England schools.
From September 2020, changes to the law has made Relationships Education compulsory for all pupils receiving primary education and Relationships and Health Education (RHE) compulsory for all pupils receiving secondary education. The guidance can be found by clicking here. To ensure that we can deliver this to the highest standard, we will be using a new scheme of work, approved by the Diocese of Salford, called 'Life to the Full.'
We consulted with parents at the beginning of the year and from September 2021 we will roll out a two-year cycle of lessons that will cover the whole RHE curriculum. The pathway that school are using can be found below:
